My topic:school sports should be mandatory
School sports should be mandatory.
School sports should be mandatory for many interesting reasons. In my argument I am going to explain some of the reasons why school sports should be mandatory,
School sports get kids fitter.
Kids running around gets their muscles and lungs bigger. Scientists say if you’re fit when you're young, you will be fit when older, so it is good to make a healthy habit early. Also if you're not fit when you're young, you won’t be fit when you're older. Sports you play at school, like cricket, tennis, football and soccer are good sports to play to get fit.
People get better at sports by practising.
Some people that are good at sports when they're young could be an athlete when they're older. If you start at school when you're young you have lots of years to practice. So when you watch sport you can say “I knew that guy or girl, we were in a team together when we were little”.
People get entertainment at sports
For some people watching good sportsman like Ross Taylor is very exciting. Watching him bat could be very exciting and getting his signature too. Also the crowd can cheer and get involved by running on the pitch at the end. Mandatory school sport means that someone might have learned how to play a sport that they didn't know about before and they could become the next Ross Taylor.
Conclusion
School sports are quite important because of all the reasons I have put in my argument. Everyone should play them.
